Job Description:

Foodbuy, LLC, a division of Compass Group is seeking a highly motivated individual as a Data Analyst based in our Charlotte, NC office.

This is the primary department support role for Step 6 (Implementation) and Step 7 (Category Development) within the 7 Step Sourcing Process for Foodbuy. This role includes strong project management, analytical and customer service components to support the execution of category strategies.


Responsibilities:

Data accuracy and maintenance -term set management, price releases, subscriptions, catalogs

Facilitation of SAP vendor maintenance for assigned categories. This includes monitoring supplier payments, working with the Business Needs team to block non compliant vendors, converting purchases to contracted vendors and facilitating all Supplier Maintenance system requests.

Support of MOG (managed order guides) and S1 audit processes

Monitoring and updating Model Market vendor listings to ensure alignment with preferred vendors in each market

Working with direct suppliers to establish accurate reporting of direct purchases

Working with Finance and Accounting to ensure that assigned direct programs are booked and paid in a manner that maximizes income recognition and minimizes DSO

Preparation of supplier and category analyses and presentation materials

Identification of category opportunities and recommendations

Working with Finance to ensure the accuracy of category and supplier scorecards and dashboards

Handling Buysmart (purchasing help desk) queries and creating and maintaining updated resources on MyCompass

Supporting department processes - including Commercial Change Requests, Accounts Receivables, Non Rebateables, member on-boarding

Supporting the Category Development team in new program roll outs and conversion initiatives- including data analysis liaison with stakeholders, making pricing proposals, project management, preparation of sales materials etc

Preparation of supplier, category, product and pricing analyses, proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations as they relate to S1, model market, contract coverage, conversion opportunities, term set consolidation, pricing /VA , new programs and contracts

Analysis and prioritization of growth opportunities for responsible categories,suppliers and customers

Tracking of raw materials and presentation of data for use in negotiations and presentations

Application of market indices to support the calculation of formula based price changes

Provision of project management / tracking for department projects as needed

Monitoring of contract expiration dates and support contract negotiations as needed

Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

1 to 3 years related experience required; experience executing defined projects, performing analytics and project management are critical to success in this role

High degree of experience utilizing Excel applications. Access abilities will increase the effectiveness of a person in this position.

Experience utilizing various databases and reporting solutions to analyze very large data sets

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; significant related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Business analysis - Clarifies and resolves complex business issues and opportunities by breaking down large amounts of data to determine route cause or resolution / improvement

Experience utilizing reporting and accounting systems

Must be adaptable to change and thrive in a dynamic environment

Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Flexible and capable of handling and completing multiple competing tasks and priorities

Assertive, yet capable of building and maintaining effective relationships

Analytical and effectively applies common sense to analysis
