Compass Group, the world's leading contract foodservice company, has a Great Opportunity for career development and growth here at its North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC as a Corporate Counsel.

Position reports to Assistant General Counsel - Compliance and Foodbuy.

Position will support procurement-related and other transactional matters related to Compass Group's procurement subsidiary, Foodbuy, LLC, which is also a group purchasing organization ("GPO"). Position will also support the Assistant General Counsel in Compass Group's activities in matters that will emphasize corporate compliance and governance, including but not limited to: performing various compliance related audit functions and implementing policy standards and Compliance Policy assessment process.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range and large volume of procurement-related agreements, including food and non-food product procurement, distribution agreements, staffing agreements, laundry/linen rental agreements, generic services agreements, consulting agreements, equipment lease and purchase agreements, and confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.

Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating Foodbuy's client agreements.

Assist in developing agreements, policies and procedures in support of new lines of Foodbuy GPO business.

Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating procurement-related provisions contained in Compass Group's foodservice client contracts

Developing and/or improving policies and procedures related to Compass Group/Foodbuy procurement and GPO business

Participate in various collaborative teams related to special procurement and compliance related issues.

Assist in the administration of the Company's Corporate Compliance Program including embedding the Compass Group PLC Code of Ethics and Code of Business Conduct into the business.

Assist in development of relevant training programs relating to procurement and the Corporate Compliance Program.

Monitor performance standards and compliance metrics and develop methodologies to detect compliance issues.

Other additional duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's and Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and an active state bar license are required.

Experience: At least 2 years experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. In-house counsel experience supporting a procurement function or GPO preferred.

Technical Skills: Ability to identify and thoroughly analyze federal, state and local statutes and diverse contractual issues and succinctly and effectively communicate conclusions to business management; broad knowledge of all areas of commercial transactional issues and applicable law; financial and accounting knowledge a plus.

Other Skills: Demonstrated aptitude and effectiveness operating in fast-paced, diverse and complex organizational environment; Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills; Team player and proven ability to work with all levels of management; Strong problem solving and project management skills; Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with others in handling complex issues; and Strong leadership and influencing skills and sound business judgment.

Travel: Up to 15% travel may be required.

Basic computer skills - Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel. Ability to use learn to use other technology such SAP a plus.
