DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES - CHARTWELLS - POTENTIAL BUSINESS - NYC METRO REGION
POSITIONS WILL BE LOCATED AT AN ACCOUNT IN HAMILTON, NY
The SR DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES is an experienced manager with proven management experience. Participates on a team and provides overall planning, direction, evaluation and control to assigned operation to achieve business and financial goals. Works as part of the university team. Establishes and maintains effective customer/client rapport.
The ideal candidate will:
Possess strong strategic thinking skills, with an emphasis on delivering and measuring action plans.

Embrace excellence in customer service both for internal and external customers; have excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrate initiative and good judgment in assisting customers, clients, peers and subordinates.
Have the ability to think quickly and accurately, be able to evaluate problems and make appropriate recommendations to person(s) involved.
Have a high level of resilience during stressful periods and the ability to handle last minute changes.
Operates the department in accordance with the approved budget, while providing the client with the maximum value for the dollars spent.
Ensures that the food offered to the students superior quality.
Directs and conducts safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs.
Maintains excellent relationships with students, faculty, guests and client as well as other departments within the community.
Promotes the professional growth and development of the entire team.
Fosters strong inter-departmental relations and integrates the dining service department with the facility plan of operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of additional experience
Minimum of five (5) years of Proven Leadership expertise
Two (2) to four (4) years of direct foodservice operational management experience preferably in Higher Ed Dining setting, with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
ServSafe® certified a plus
Must be forward thinking, proactive and the face of Chartwells on campus
Ability to offer new ideas and communicate change in a proactive way
Must have the ability to travel to other regional accounts on a as needed basis (could involve overnight stays)
MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE METRO REGION
