Job Description:
This is a Great Opportunity to become a leader in a great company and growing Sector: of Compass Group, Canteen Vending Services. The Route Driver is the face of the company and must project a professional and positive image of Canteen at all times while maintaining and building excellent customer relationships. This position has excellent advancement opportunities providing employees with the foundation needed for entry level management. The Route Driver is responsible for the safe operation of a motor vehicle in compliance with company policies/procedures and DOT regulations. Training is provided.
Responsibilities:
- Loading of your vehicle with products from the warehouse
- Keeping the vehicle clean and obeying all traffic laws
- Delivering products to machines on an established route including restocking, product rotation, and merchandising
- Ensuring machines are clean, filled and working
- Making machine collections and placing those collections into the truck safe for transport back to the branch office where they are counted.
- Maintaining accurate machine product and inventory data via a handheld computer
- Conduct truck inventory on a weekly basis and machine inventories as assigned
Qualifications:
- College degree preferred. High school diploma required. Or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years diving experience
- Be punctual, understanding the importance of meeting deadlines
- Must pass background check (criminal history), drug testing, and physical capabilities test (if applicable)
- Possess a clean driving record (CDL license not required)
- Be able to read and write the English language and speak it clearly
- Be able to operate a handheld computer
- Able to work independently as work is unsupervised over 75% of a typical work day
- Excellent customer service and organization skills
This position is labor intensive, requiring lifting, loading and pushing/pulling a significantly high volume of products per day ranging from 20-45 pounds repeatedly during working hours. It also requires reaching, squatting, and bending while delivering and merchandising products in the machines across a wide variety of weather conditions. At times (such as peak seasons) this position requires long hours.
