Job Description:
Foodbuy LLC manages the procurement and distribution of goods and services on behalf of all Compass Group companies in North America and affiliated client organizations.
Foodbuy’s team understands the big picture: culinary needs, foodservice trends, nutrition and health issues, operating patterns and customer requirement, and extensive customer sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Identify supply cost reduction opportunities for the committed member while increasing contract compliance and Foodbuy account revenue margin
- Gain customer commitment to convert products within manufacturer categories and from one manufacturer to another to achieve food cost savings
- Utilize member support tools to identify opportunities to increase purchasing and compliance volumes and revenue for the committed member and Foodbuy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts in committed member accounts to enhance business opportunities
- Facilitates process of evaluation and implementation of products and services that deliver on expressed needs of committed members with suppliers
- Responsible for the implementation and conversion of new committed customers to the Foodbuy program
- Asks strategic probing questions of committed members to gain insight into long-term needs and priorities
- Provides data and insights to assist committed members in prioritizing needs
- Creates clear and concise written materials and presentations addressing complex issues
- Takes appropriate steps during and after meetings face-to-face or remotely to evaluate whether key messages were received and understood
- Negotiates with committed members to achieve buy-in and alignment with key initiatives
- Maximizes the impact of resources within sourcing and category development on committed member activities
- Increase the commitment level of each assigned committed member
- Increase financial performance for each committed member and Foodbuy (decreasing costs of goods, increasing Foodbuy income)
- Ensure all committed member purchase volume is captured
- Ensure each committed member unit is linked to all appropriate agreements (Capture)
- Ensure committed member reporting and business reviews are timely and actionable
- Develop new business opportunities in the segmented channels
- Contribution of Foodbuy programs to committed member’s and Foodbuy bottom line, which includes:
- Volume allowance
- Deviated pricing
- Compliance KPIs
- Program management administration costs/savings
- Internal ROI for Member measured by Foodbuy
- Monitors performance against targets/deadlines and responds when they are not achieved
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, focus in Business preferred
- Minimum of 4+ years managing Large Regional and/or National accounts in the Healthcare, Food Service and/or GPO Industry
- Strong understanding of healthcare food service procurement
- Foodservice Distribution experience a plus
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications is required
- Intermediate knowledge of Contract Management technology preferred
- Ability to travel extensively, 50%+ primarily to Charlotte and client locations
- A strong understanding of the financial, commercial, technological and social aspects of Foodbuy’s business and value chain and how it relates to the competitive environment.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent customer/client relationship skills, both internally and externally
- Ability to build effective long-term interpersonal relationships proactively across functions both within Foodbuy and external parties, working with others towards mutually acceptable solutions.
- Strong influencing skills—must be able to persuade people’s attitudes, behaviors and decisions to desired results
- Ability to manage financial resources and costs in order to ensure the achievement of strategic organizational objectives and to increase the profitability of Foodbuy.
- Excellent negotiation skills--proven ability to engage others and handle interactions with individuals or groups to obtain commitment, compromise or settlement in a way that promotes win-win solutions and mutual goals or interests.
