Job Description:


Assist the accounting supervisor with daily duties including training accounting clerks, communicating with field personnel regarding accounting issues as well as being responsible for a set of accounting books.


This position will be based in our Mobile, Alabama accounting office.


Responsibilities:



  • Ensure excellent customer service is provided.

  • Ensure that approved procedures are being followed to provide accurate, efficient and timely reporting

  • Assist and back up the Accounting Supervisor as requested.

  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts

  • Prepare journal entries and post to SAP as necessary.

  • Verify and record weekly and monthly reports

  • Prepare necessary reports and correspondence for operations

  • Assist in the training of accounting clerks based on department guidelines

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.

  • Contract compliance

  • Audit Weekly Accounting packages from operations.

  • Field research as needed.

  • Process monthly expense reports from operations.

  • Special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Customer service focus

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Detail oriented

  • Team player

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Proficiency in Word, Access and Excel

  • Working knowledge of SAP financial or other accounting software preferred
