Job Description:


Compass Group, the world’s largest contract foodservice company, has a Great Opportunity for career development and growth here at its North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC as a Supervisor for the AP Research Team.


Responsibilities:



  • Supervise the Accounts Payable Research Team, consisting of 6 individuals

  • Monitor the process and progress with respect to research and inquiries of the individual Accounts Payable Research Associates and the Research Team overall

  • Resolve or assist in the resolution of complex problems relating to research and processing of invoices and credit memos

  • Establish and develop open communication and interaction with the team, managers and other internal customers

  • Provide assistance to the Accounts Payable Manager relating to various projects

  • Play a key role in the implementation of new policies & procedures for the AP Department

  • Act as a liaison between the Accounts Payable Research Associates, vendors and internal customers

  • Assist Accounts Payable Research Associates in developing reasonable strategies to effectively and efficiently bring vendor accounts to current

  • Validate data, document findings, and prepare statistical reports for the Research Team

  • Perform annual review of established metrics to measure performance of associates. Contribute to any newly identified KPIs needed, establishing metrics to measure performance

  • Monitor and ensure all Central Bills are posted accurately on a monthly basis

  • Complete assigned Accounts Payable balance sheet reconciliations

  • Ensure new associates receive the training needed to be successful in the AP Research Analyst role

  • Review, variance anlaysis and forecast of FAS Accounts Payable


Qualifications:



  • Bachelors degree requried; Accounting/Finance areas of study preferred

  • 2+ years accounts payable experience and previous supervisory experience

  • Strong customer service experience

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of MS Office suite

  • Detail oriented

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with associates and vendors, as well as various levels of management

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • SAP experience is desired

  • Access experience a plus
