Under general direction, the Business Analyst will work directly with POM to coordinate and enhance information services and technological related needs fostering better communication and relationships. As the liaison between field operations and POM, the BA will be responsible for day to day interaction, administration, training, support and project management in relation to Information Services solutions for POM.
The position will assist in POM technical direction and administrative support for all aspects of multi-user, multi-location network architecture; provide day-to-day maintenance of the company's information systems hardware; and assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of the company’s workflow process automation.
Responsibilities:
- Act as an advocate for the business units using existing technological resources and solutions to improve the operational efficiencies and enhance the daily activities within the business unit.
- Facilitates and documents IT needs within the business Sector:
- Supports new business sales and start up efforts in relation to IT needs
- Serve as the administrator for any business unit specific applications including but not limited to Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and quality assurance software.
- Provide application level user support, end-user documentation, training materials, and operational instructions that clearly and accurately reflect each system's functionality
- Performs instructor led training for end users via in person, classroom or web based training
- Responsible throughout the project life cycle; help determine priorities while balancing business needs against other development projects
- Creates functional specifications for new development items including end user scenarios, use cases and rules.
- Ability to analyze business needs and determine appropriate solution
- Record and document application issues that require fixes, manage development priorities and test functionality for system updates
- Act as the Project Manager for application roll out and implementation
- Hands on Instruction and implementation online and/or on site
- Knowledge of PC setup and basic wired/wireless networking skills
- Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and setup issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in IT/Technical field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Projects and Visio.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of web applications and servers a plus.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle
- Travel: 10-20%
- Must be able to work independently on complex projects
- Strong project management and problem solving skills required.
- Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills.
- Very strong technical foundation and the ability to collaborate well with others
- Strong attention to detail
- Well organized, with a strong desire to document accurately
