Job Description: Assists in the preparation and maintenance of accounting reports and may be responsible for general office functions by performing the duties described below.


Responsibilities:


Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks to substantiate business transactions; controls and disburses petty cash according to company policies..

Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received, disbursed, and deposited. Transfers totals to computer spreadsheets and into databases.

Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, rentals, and similar items; prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records and reviews for accuracy.

Monitors accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date; codes and inputs data (e.g., inventories, cash collections) for forwarding to the corporate office and inclusion in the company's financial reports.

General office duties include answering telephones, filing, dispatching, mail distribution, typing, correspondence, and CRS orders; prepares and maintains payroll and personnel reports (e.g., commissions, vacation/sick accruals, union health and welfare).Maintain clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to the three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safely rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OtherQualifications: Familiarity with basic hardware and software in a Windows environment is required. Proficient with 10-key. Refer to Non-Exempt Performance Measures Addendum.
