Job Description:
Retail Analyst---Canteen Ave C, a revolutionary self check-out vending model, based in Southeast USA. Canteen is growing its Ave C business at a tremendous rate. Learn more about Ave C at http://www.myavenuec.com/
Responsibilities:
Utilizing your financial acumen as a base, review markets on a monthly basis and determine the drivers of units performing at less than optimum levels. Communicate your findings with the Operations Team so that changes can be implemented.
Utilizing the sales data across all the markets determine products that are key sellers by demographic. Also identify slow moving items that would be candidates for replacement. Communicate findings to the Operations Team so that products offered in each market can be altered accordingly.
Utilizing the sales data, determine optimal retail pricing of products - considering pricing elasticity.
Help local financial managers and operators setting up new markets on the system. Become the Division "Super User" of the One Market and help/train field personnel on the system.
The markets are unattended and theft is a concern by nature. Identify units with excessive shrinkage and review their loss prevention practices. Make recommendations for improvement.
Balance sheets analysis and review, including clearing accounts, prepaids, liabilities, etc.
Assist in annual budgeting/forecasting process.
Suggest changes/improvements to processes to increase the accuracy, efficiency or effectiveness of daily activities (including security of assets).
Establish variance/one-off /exception reporting.
Perform special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred
4+ years of accounting and reporting experience
Retail experience a plus
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced deadline driven environment
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with clients/managers/across Ave C districts
Ability to work independently and possess strong problem solving skills
SAP experience a plus
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications
Travel required
