Job Description:

Also based in Charlotte NC, Foodbuy LLC is a wholly-owned Sector of Compass Group North America, that manages the procurement and distribution of goods and services on behalf of our parent company and external Committed Members in the Health Care, Hospitality, and Restaurant channels, which makes Foodbuy the largest foodservice procurement organization in North America.
The Corporate Fleet Manager manages the full fleet of 8,000 owned, leased, and full service cars, vans, and trucks (class 1- 8) throughout North America, in alignment with corporate objectives.
This position is based in our Charlotte, NC office.
Responsibilities:
- Continually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, associate development, and high training and safety standards.
- In conjunction with the key business stakeholders, initiates, directs and conducts all activities related to negotiating, evaluating, selecting and executing preferred supplier contracts
- Ensures the range of services and/or products has been sourced and negotiated at the lowest net price to maximize business profitability & meet service needs
- Acts as subject-matter expert regarding Department of Transportation Regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable State and Federal Vehicle laws.
- Works with vehicle suppliers to ensure production schedules meet forecasted needs
- Creates, influences, and contribute to Vehicle policies
- Conducts industry analysis to provide proactive insight to 3 year category strategy.
- Designs cost savings projects across assigned categories/products.
- Reviews and approves capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives.
- Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
- Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets.
- Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.
- Ensures vehicle management systems and processes are effectively utilized.
- Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for budget forecasts and strategic/tactical attainment.
- Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
- Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.
- Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.
Project Management
- Accountable for achieving financial and value optimization targets developed as part of annual category planning
- Create and update project progress plans to reflect necessary activities, savings, cost and timing
- Work as a close liaison with Operations to determine best feasible products, alternate options and sources
- Ensure projects are upheld to business standards prior to implementation. Areas of focus include but not limited to; quality, regulatory and legal compliance, consumer acceptance and supply chain deployment
- Monitor all sourcing projects and provide reports on savings, associated timing and costs
- Lead regular meetings with cross functional project teams for adherence to deliverables and timing
Qualifications:
- 5+ years corporate wide fleet management experience, preferably for Fortune 500 Company.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred; significant related product/service specific experience may be considered in lieu of education for certain level roles.
- Experience of broader aspects of supply chain, as well as providing evidence of a broader business perspective such as balancing cost, value, risk & opportunity.
- Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally with colleagues in operations, finance, customer service, risk management.
- Negotiation and relationship building experience at the most senior level into supplier organizations.
- Proven track record of ability to influence in a cross functional organization including conflict resolution.
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder. Demonstrates networking skills, ability to influence and get things done through informal as well as formal channels.
- Outstanding presentation skills and selling skills to manage implementation of key programs.
- Capacity to handle multiple changing agendas yet to stay in control of events.
- High proficiency level with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel 10%-20% annually.
