Position Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, this Facilities Management professional will be responsible for managing a team of support service professionals and will play a lead role in providing financial and operational support to Senior Management. He or she will be responsible for the key client relationships and ensuring safe operations, while generating and implementing strategies to improve service levels and improve efficiency throughout the organization.
The immediate infrastructure includes management and maintenance of an 9 story office building with 800 occupants, all associated utilities and landscaping, an 86 unit residential housing facility which includes a school, 10 room hotel, gymnasium, restaurant, pool, landscaping, fencing, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and lead safety management systems that meet company and client expectations
- Lead, build and consolidate positive client relations
- Clearly understand the requirements for management and maintenance of office buildings, utility infrastructure and residential housing compounds
- Understand and evaluate historical data from CMMS programs to identify deficiency trends in performance
- Use creative thinking and relevant experience to identify and develop added value projects to enhance the clients satisfaction
- Conduct continual analysis and evaluation of strategic information (consumptions, energy efficiency, spare parts usage, wrench time, productivity, etc.)
- Coordinate and manage subordinates, facilitate interdepartmental communication and allocate tasks and resources as needed.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, evaluate proposals, negotiate pricing and allocate tasks and resources as needed.
- Gather and link information, resolve discrepancies and make strategic recommendations
- Engage and work with support service professionals who are charged with producing safe, timely and high quality operations
- Ensure cross functional development and assist in the consolidation and integration of local national workforce
- Provide meaningful reporting to Senior Management in timely and effective manner
- Manage customer support programs and technical trouble shooting related to a variety of services
- Facilitate contract administration, inspection and project management
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience with related support services required
- University or college degree/diploma (Engineering degree preferred) required
- Comprehensive medical evaluation required for work permit
- Strong leadership, management, coaching and organizational skills
- Excellent oral, written, cross functional and interpersonal communication skills that are appropriate for various levels, including management staff, clients and contractors
- Good project planning and execution skills, including the ability make mid-course corrections
- Computer knowledge, including CMMS, MS Project, word processing, spreadsheets and databases
- Experienced in safety management systems. (NEBOSH certification preferable)
- Solid understanding of business fundamentals related to negotiation and financial management
- Leadership skills/management training
- Russian language skill preferred but not required.
- Able to work in an unstructured environment and independently
- Strong problem solver and planner with organizational and analytical ability
- Effective Management skills related to financial reporting, P/L statements, project management, inventory control, human resources and monthly reporting
- Mathematical skills; ability to perform statistical calculations
- A proven history of delivering strong financial and operational leadership
Personal attributes:
The successful candidate will be a graduate qualified and experienced Facilities Management professional with leadership experience, preferably from a complex, multi-site, diverse business of a similar size. He or she will possess strong communication skills and cross-cultural sensitivity; along with demonstrable change management skills. With the capacity for looking at problems in a new way, being numerically able, with the ability to stay focused in the face of criticism, have IT skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure and make logical decisions. Have a methodical approach, particularly when dealing with lots of incoming data and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
