In this exciting opportunity you will manage building design and construction projects and provide electrical engineering expertise as the Owner's representative. You will provide input on your knowledge of building electrical systems, central plant operations, electrical distribution, current building codes and construction cost estimating. You will provide world class customer service and management of building construction and renovation projects to include design, construction acquisition, construction, construction closeout and post construction issues. The Electical Engineer is responsible for timely completion and financial outcome of construction projects in a team environment that includes the Owner, design professionals (architects and engineers), project inspectors and other team members. Finally, you would ensure Owner satisfaction and overall success of assigned projects.

Responsibilities:



  • Provides electrical engineering, consultation, analysis, reports and budget estimates for a broad range of facility electrical projects and issues. Ensure federal, state, and local laws and codes concerning health, safety, and the environment are strictly adhered to in the programming, design, and construction of facilities projects.

  • Supervises and manages construction projects as the Owner's representative. Provides effective construction management of assigned projects by coordinating all pre-construction and construction activity on these projects, including project design, development of construction documents, preparation of project estimates and budgets, receipt and evaluation of project proposals, site observation of construction, budget and schedule management, project close-out and post construction issues such as warranty or latent defect claims.

  • Provide project oversight and quality assurance inspections to ensure construction work complies with contract documents, safety requirements, schedule and budget requirements.Purchasing and Reporting duties included but not limited to: managing and tracking all financial reports, attendance, payroll, maintain inventory, service reports and accomplishments.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master's Degree preferred.

  • Experience in electrical engineering required.

  • Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in Texas required

  • Minimum five years experience in design and construction of building electrical systems, including facility lighting and power, fire detection and alarm systems, communications and audio visual systems, metering, controls and energy management.

  • Knowledge of building electrical systems, central plant operations, electrical distribution, current building codes and construction cost estimating. Ability to interpret building construction plans and specifications

  • Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions in stressful situations.

  • Strong customer service skills required.

  • Creative problem solving skills.

  • Ability to identify strong talent that complements and contributes to the client’s environment.

  • Experience in working with outside vendors, accounts payable/receivable, and budget management preferred.

  • Proficiency using the Internet and Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
