Job Description:
The IT Field Support Lead is responsible for working with Bon Appetit IT and BA operations, Compass Group FSS, external clients, and potentially external vendors. The primary responsibilities include understanding IT business needs, being solution-oriented, working to deliver successful implementation of systems, and providing on going IT support and systems management to the local operations management. IT professionals with POS, PCI, and restaurant or hospitality experience are strongly preferred.
This position will be based in Seattle, WA, South of Lake Union and will report to the Director of Information Technology.
POSITION OBJECTIVES: |
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following:
- Deliver on time and within budget IT solutions to Bon Appetit operations and external clients.
- Be the local go-to technical resource.
- Insure PCI and company IT security policies are followed and adhered to.
MAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS: |
- Be the local go-to technical resource and systems administrator for solutions in use at Bon Appetit units in the Seattle area. Solutions include and are not limited to: Micros, Infogenesis, Nextep Systems, cBord and Blackboard.
- Responsible for having an in-depth understanding of the portfolio of solutions by self-training and reviewing solution documentation and updates.
- Work with Bon Appetit operations, Bon Appetit IT, Compass FSS, and client technical staff to understand and document IT business needs, recommend solutions, and insure successful solution implementation while following corporate and client’s IT security guidelines. Solutions include Point of Sale, customer online/mobile ordering, timekeeping, computer, and network systems.
- Ability to self-manage and be proactive is key as well as to identify areas where new or existing IT solutions can help local management be more effective in their operations.
- Drive process improvements, based on analytical findings, to have a positive impact to the business bottom line
- Provide detailed communication and project updates to Bon Appetit IT, BA operation management teams and clients, as needed.
- Effective communication and working relationship with Compass departments, vendors, and external and internal customers.
- Responsible for setting up and leading project meetings, including taking notes, and communicating and tracking action items.
- Manage projects independently while being hands on.
- Escalate non-standard requests to Bon Appetit’s IT management.
- Provide computer and server support as needed.
- Travel: Local 20-50% with own transportation. Domestic travel 5-10% as needed using airplane and car rental.
MINOR DUTIES: |
- Provide desk side or remote technical support to end users as it relates to windows systems, STAFF clocks, and other company internal systems and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS: |

- A Bachelor's Degree is required; an MIS or related technical field of study preferred
- 2 year minimum experience in a similar role.
- Thorough knowledge of PCI compliance, networking, Windows servers and desktops/laptops.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Visio
- Working knowledge of current technology in use a plus, they include Infogenesis POS, Micros POS, STAFF, Area 101, Catertrax, RMS, Windows 7, Windows 2003 and 2008 servers.
- Takes ownership of the timely delivery of work assigned at high quality standards.
