Job Description
In this exciting opportunity you will have a thorough knowledge of customer service, facility management, building maintenance practices, as well as the policies and values of the client. This position manages and coordinates the team that oversees mail services, reception, event planning, facility maintenance, space planning, and relocation/reconfiguration. The team will ensure the client provides a workplace that is the model of efficiency, comfort, and fun. In addition, the Unit Director will focus on the needs and requirements of the client in order to achieve extraordinary service practices and exceed client expectations, while working closely with end-users, as well as outside vendors and contractors. Responsible for successfully coordinating and supporting all sector activities of the campus, including ultimate financial responsibility by management of the WOR. The Unit Director will be the Woodcreek campus leader for Compass One. In the eyes of the client, this is the person that best represents our company. Works with all levels of the campus staff in all matters relating to the client satisfaction. Extremely strong communication, organizational and time management skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
Achieve Budget/Financial Responsibilities
• Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of financial data and statistics.
• Controls expenses within area of responsibility.
• Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget.
• Evaluates and justifies supplies, equipment and purchases as needed.
Customer Relations
• Addresses and ensures client needs are met.
• Demonstrates good/effective communication skills in client.
• Vendor relations, coordinate with outside vendors, performance and quality level monitoring, and research new vendors.
Operation Excellence
• Demonstrates quality leadership in meeting performance plans.
• Acts as a positive role model; proactive in the achievement of the campus goals and objectives
• Maintains an environment that is in sanitary, attractive and in an orderly condition.
• Understands and develops the Total Quality Management Process; Rounding the campus.
• Ensures safety and security for the facility, emergency response plans, compliance with all local regulatory requirements, function as the afterhours contact for property management, and training of office emergency procedures
• Organizing and managing daily activities and events, project and move management, development of office standards and policies and procedures, management of vendor contracts, new hire orientation assistance, communication of events or service announcements, monthly newsletter, maintain intranet pages.
• Demonstrates understanding and competency in interviewing candidates for openings.
• Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy.
• Demonstrates and promotes Compass One culture, values and management philosophy
People Management
• Coaching management and hourly employees.
• Encourages and nurtures associate creativity and innovation within the Compass One program.
• Develop and maintain performance appraisals for staff on a timely and accurate basis.
• Encourage staff to participate in additional training, education, and/or self-development.
• Maintains a harassment free environment with good employee morale by demonstrating good employee relations practices and utilizing HR consultation.
Administration
• Keeps administration informed of activities, needs or concerns.
• Maintains records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years management experience with increasing levels of responsibility within facilities services or other service related field preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
- Creative problem solving skills.
- Ability to identify strong talent that complements and contributes to the client’s environment.
- Experience in working with outside vendors, accounts payable/receivable, and budget management preferred.
- Proficiency using the Internet and Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
