Job Description:
This position will effectively seek to add financial value to the Sector: through the consistent analysis & monitoring of K-12 MOGs, maximizing S1 opportunities and school specific product. Responsibilities will include interface with FB on all sourcing activities, slow & dead audits as well as managing the product request process in tandem with the regional Chefs. The position will also support state by state analysis of compliant commodity choices to ensure that consistent, fiscally sound opportunities are identified & selected operationally. These responsibilities will include the creation of commodity communications & financial calculator tools that will support a strategic approach to regional commodity selections. Chartwells total Entitlement is over $70,000,000.
The role will also include managing the OB program for K-12, with particular emphasis on identifying consistently available items supported by necessary nutritional data that meet defined cost goals
Duties - Purchasing Management
Reviewing the monthly K-12 MOG Audit, DC by DC
Manage attributing process & issues
Partner with Nutrition to ensure reimbursable MOG selections are compliant
Flagging cost inconsistencies
Ensuring that product matching during sourcing audits are good matches
Identifying S1 or schools specific product needs in terms of stocking based on K-12 DC volume
Monitoring Slow & Dead issues to minimize financial risk throughout the year
Facilitate the distribution of K-12 selected products working with FB, particularly when low volume creates opportunities
Working with FB & Nutrition to facilitate nutritional data collections as needed
Mange Product Request Process with Regional Chefs
Participate in Regional Purchasing calls
Commodity Strategy
Working with Regional Purchasing Committees & Regional Commodity champions to understand & develop a fiscally sound, compliant vendor & product selection strategy by State
Keep the field updated on USDA purchases and enhancements through champion network as well as manufacturer changes per USDA direction
Insure we are using QA approved vendors with strict traceability
Manage and communicate all Commodity recalls
ACDA (Board Membership)as a short term goal to ensure Sector representation
Ensure that dollars are used efficiently per the contract & by utilizing the tool kit
Monthly balance reports to field through champion network
Working with FoodBuy to gather mfg information and resources Sector communication
QA & Culinary vetting of mfg/products - coordination and communication
Opportunity Buys
Communication coordinator
Working with FB to develop K-12 appropriate selections
Liaise with Marketing to promote selections
Facilitating Nutrition data as needed
Manage Regional Chef OB communications & cuttings
Necessary Ingredients:
Data analysis experience
Experience in schools is a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, have high organizational skills
Product /Purchasing experience a plus
Financial analysis skills
Must be proficient with most Microsoft applications particularly Excel
Must be wiling to travel as needed
