Job Description:
Supervise financial accounting activities of business office team for Chartwells Account at University of Maryland, Baltimore County with $12M annual sales.


Responsibilities:
Oversee A/P, A/R, Payroll, P&L functions, and technology applications.Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting duties.Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets.Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.Ensure accounting conforms to GAAP and Compass Group policies, and follows contract terms.Analyze income statement and balance sheet for accuracy and completeness.Delegate authority for receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds.Train new and existing Accountants and Administrative staff in company policies and procedures, and monitor and evaluate performance.Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions.Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements.Provide financial support to operations including financial perspective to business issues facing the Complex and instruction to operators to better understand and use financial statements.With operations' input, assist Resident District Manager in provision of business forecasts including annual forecast, by month, by line of business.Assist Resident District Manager to keep operations focus on optimization of working capital through collection of past due receivables, inventory management, better management of imprest funds and vendor payments according to terms.Complete special projects as assigned.Notify Senior Management of information beneficial in account retention.Ensure safe work environment.Utilize MS Excel, PowerPoint for summary report, sales tracking, inventory trend report, team rollup, for quarterly financial client presentations, and training.
Qualifications:



Must possess Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration or directly related accounting field and 2 yrs practical experience managing accounting functions (A/R, A/P, Payroll), including responsibility to reduce inventory and control costs.

Experience must include participation in budgeting, conducting internal audits, P&L reporting, supervision of collections team, and proficiency in use of MS Excel & PowerPoint for weekly/monthly financial reporting, training & client presentations.
